The Drowsy Chaperone

Date

January/February 2020

Location

Pioneer Valley Performing Arts Charter Public School

Role

Wardrobe Crew & Build Crew

Pioneer Valley Performing Arts presented The Drowsy Chaperone! a Musical within a Comedy. It features an old man listening to his favorite musical from the 1920's, The Drowsy Chaperone, and imagining in his head what it would look like, for he has never seen it. This play has some parallels to his own life, which he often comically comments. The show is funny and dramatic in all the right ways.
This show consisted of a lot of builds in our costume shop. From the aprons, to maid hats, cummerbunds, rebuilding part dresses, reshaping hats, and dyeing/color matching suspenders. This piece featured new builds, antiques from the Brimfield flea market and many repurposed items.
